Peer Gynt - podcasts in Polish

The drama was created in cooperation with the Polish Radio Theater. Anna Wieczur-Bluszcz is responsible for the adaptation and directing, and Piotr Bajtlik plays the title role. About 80 actors and musicians participated in the production of the play.

Henrik Ibsen's "Peer Gynt" is one of the most important dramas in the world literature. The work contains many philosophical issues. The main character struggles with questions about the meaning of life, the existence of the world. It is also a description of interpersonal relations presented in the context of Peer Gynt's relationship with friends, enemies and himself. The story contains elements of folklore, fairy tales, and romanticism. The recipient is faced with many metaphorical questions.

The drama was produced with the support of the EEA and Norway Grants from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.

Concert on Polish Radio launching the EEA and Norway Grants 2014-2021

On September 11, 2019 in the Witold Lutosławski Concert Studio of the Polish Radio in Warsaw, a ceremonial concert launching the 3rd edition of the EEA and Norway Grants took place.

The event was attended by representatives of institutions involved in the implementation of the EEA and Norway Grants in Poland and the Donor States, as well as happy winners of invitations on the air of Polish Radio and on the EEA and Norway Grants Facebook profile. The guests were welcomed by the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Polish Radio Albert Dreger, Deputy Minister of Investment and Economic Development Małgorzata Jarosińska-Jedynak and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway in Poland Olav Myklebust.

The excellent Polish Radio Orchestra, conducted by Michał Klauza, performed works by Stanisław Moniuszko (1819-1872) and composers from all Donor States of the EEA and Norway Grants: Iceland (Jón Leifs 1899-1968), Liechtenstein (Josef Gabriel Rheinberger 1839-1901) and Norway (Edvard Grieg 1843-1907). Thus, the event referred to the special importance of bilateral relations with the Donor States. Their manifestation during the concert was joining the group of musicians of the Polish Radio Orchestra – Alexander Gadjiev, one of the most promising students of the International Academy of Music in Liechtenstein.

Grieg's music promotes the EEA and Norway Grants in Gdańsk

On June 6, 2021 in Gdańsk, at the Neptune Fountain in the Old Town, in the presence of numerous city residents and tourists, an open-air performance, in the flash mob formula, by artists of the Fryderyk Chopin Polish Baltic Philharmonic in Gdańsk took place.

The musicians performed the Peer Gynt suite, Op. 46 (1888): "In the Hall of the Mountain King" of the Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg, conducted by maestro George Tchitchinadze – artistic director of the Polish Baltic Philharmonic Orchestra.

The event promotes the EEA and Norway Grants in Poland.

Classical music concert by Maestro Vadim Brodski with Friends, supported by the EEA and Norway Grants and the Ministry of Development Funds and Regional Policy

On May 31, 2022, at the Royal Theater in the Old Orangery of the Royal Łazienki Park in Warsaw, a classical music concert was held, launching the key stage of the implementation of projects supported by the EEA and Norway Grants under the „Local Development” Programme. Maestro Vadim Brodski, a violin virtuoso from Ukraine, together with his friends, performed classical music, including works by the Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg.

The choice of venue was not accidental – the Royal Łazienki Museum in the 2nd edition of the EEA and Norway Grants was the beneficiary of the project "Sphere of Muses and Thoughts of Stanisław August – redecoration and conservation of the 18th-century Old Orangery and the Royal Theatre for the needs of a new sculpture exhibition and cultural program".

Maestro Vadim Brodski was accompanied by outstanding artists: Ukrainian soprano Natalia Gaman-Orlova, pianist Bartłomiej Wezner, flautist Margherita Brodski and saxophonist Julian Brodski.

Promotion of the EEA and Norway Grants during the 5th edition of the Nordic Talking Festival 2022 in Gdynia

The aim of the Nordic Talking Festival (NTF) in Gdynia is to promote Nordic culture in Poland and cultural education, as well as supporting positive relations with Scandinavian countries. This goal is achieved by organizing the festival, the speakers of which are experts on the subject, representatives of the Nordic world, native Norwegians, Sami people and professional artists, who synthetically convey to the audience key issues influencing the development of culture and art. In the 5th edition of the festival, the organizer – Art of Freedom Foundation – returned to the roots and took up topics related to history, folklore and cultural heritage, in particular of Norway and Iceland. The EEA and Norway Grants became the Main Partner of the 5th edition of the Nordic Talking Festival.

The festival was held on May 27-29, 2022 at the Gdynia Film Center, the Consulate of Culture in Gdynia and the Museum of the City of Gdynia, and was additionally broadcast on the NTF Facebook profile. The co-organizer of the event was the City of Gdynia. The Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway in Warsaw granted its honorary patronage to this festival.

During the festival presentations, lectures, workshops, concerts, film screenings, live history lessons, city walk, city game and language workshops took place. 18 ventures of these were directly related to Norway and Iceland.

About 1,500 people took part in the stationary events. Additionally, around 100,000 people attended the festival on-line.

Thanks to the organization of cultural events related to Norway and Iceland supported by the EEA and Norway Grants during the 5th Nordic Talking Festival 2022, it was possible to promote the Grants among people interested in Scandinavia and Nordic culture.
